Not-tin

Wow....why is that tin bracelet so expensive? Is it a brand thing? ...I might purchase it.
Isak
Tin is found in cassiterite, and that is what the groups who created the newer tunnels and caves in The Undergrounds thought they had found. It wasn't. Well, it was exactly like cassiterite, except when heated into tin it could contain supernatural abilities.   The amount of cassiterite that they found wasn't big, but they couldn't very well mine the mineral quickly either. All of this had to be done quietly without any of the common people living in the town noticing. So they are still mining the cave several hundred years later. All cassiterite is turned into tin. Like normal tin it is a soft, silvery-white metal with a bluish tinge. But unlike normal tin it has a faint teal, mint or turquoise glow for some people with supernatural abilities.

GEOGRAPHY

The cassiterite was found close to the old cave system when the new cave system was built. It's down in the deepest caves of the new system and the groups with access and knowledge of the old cave systems have tried to search for more. Some small deposits have been found there but they have not been allowed to mine them for fear of waking up the ancient being resting in the old cave systems.   One group has found a deposit of cassiterite in a cave in one of the new cave systems but not told any of the other groups about their find. They are currently trying to figure out a way to keep their find a secret but still mine what they have found.

Usage

The tin is used to make tin bracelets and other tin jewelry or items. It's also used for plating steel containers, like normal tin. These items are then sold by the group to supernatural people in Urskoga but also to other supernatural communities across the world.
