Kilcomb Faction

Led by Duke Kilcomb, this group of nobles mostly has their domains in the western part of the kingdom. As such their troops are heavily involved in the war, with only their reserve troops present in the valley. These troops were guarding the supply lines when the Ravenmight Institute gave out their warning and convinced everyone to evacuate before the reservoir could be sabotaged.
The troops rerouted the supplies towards the hills, which greatly helped the refugees make it through the initial period before longterm supplies could be arranged. Unlike the Montchild faction, they have played an active role in protecting the valley despite their small numbers. In fact, one might suspect that without them, the Montchild faction would have simply abandoned the valley.
A few dozen noble members are present and in command of the troops. Under their leadership, the soldiers have taken up main guard duty at several areas, leaving the Wooden Shields free to go whever they are needed for new emergencies. They also help train the civilians in how to deal with hostile creatures, much to the disgruntlement of the Montchild faction that fears it risks an armed uprising.
Some of the nobles have chosen to instead join Scout parties and play a more active role in securing the valley. Their motive is unsure, though it could be seeking glory, aiming to help, or making sure they discover anything of import before the Montchild faction does.
