Calanne the Naharaim
A Dangerous Foe
Dale slew the Black King Elwëdorf, and his allies slew the Black King's Trident. The Trident was three great warriors and magicians that advised the Black King and commanded his armies. They were all, as their master, powerful in the ways of the Action Existential.
Pictured above is Calanne the Naharaim. He was an eastern elf prince. He always went about masked, even in times of peace. The clinking of his armor heralded fear. His great broadsword poisoned the flesh if struck. And if he so desired, he would kill one instantly with those cursed words, 'Be Not'.
His bones lie interred in the island called the Black King's Hoard. When he was slain the heroes tried to burn his body, but in a feat of trickery, the last servants of the Black King stole away the corpse of the Naharaim and placed his body in a guarded tomb on a desolate island later to be called the Black King's Hoard. Many men have tried to adventure through this tomb to finally destroy the body of Calanne, but none have succeeded. Now, so long after, many aren't even sure such a place exists.
It is strange that a corpse need be guarded. Stranger still that such pious servants wouldn't entomb his corpse in a much safer locale.
This knowledge has been recorded in the epic Tar-Aïnua Dale, and we source our information from it.
