Having been elected as emperor of The Republic of Humanity about 36 years ago, Alvalor Shinaryn's election was quite controversial, getting support from those who wish to see the Republic's influence spread across Lutar and much less support for those who believe the Emperor should currently focus on its own infrastructure and internal issues. Emperor Shinaryn also garnered a lot of support from the very religious groups of the republic, as several major temples spoke in his favor, including the church of Savassan.
