The City of Brimstone

While Brimstone had been a settlement for some time, as an unincorporated territory, its authority was in name only and unrecognized by the Union. With the upcoming incorporation and Election of 1884, government will finally have authority and recognition.

The Election of 1884

Incorporation is coming to Brimstone soon enough. With the pressing of Sheriff Torres. With his campaigning and pressuring of the city's power players, he was allowed to collect signatures to bring to the Territorial Authorities, requesting to incorporate the city.
While the Sheriff position was defaultly given to Torres, other positions, by City Charter, are left to election.

Mayoral Election

A few parties have shown interest in the Mayoral Election. As the sole executive, the position carries a great deal of influence and power over the city's future.

Mr. Blakeley

"To Every Soul Its Station"

As the city's banker and wealthiest resident, Mr. Blakeley sees himself as the most prime and ready candidate to run such a business focused city as Brimstone. As the owner of Blakeley Financial, the local Brimstone branch of his sprawling financial empire brings in a good deal of income, providing loans for the city. Matron Lopez

"Fortune Favours the Bold and the Kind"

Matron Lopez enjoys the support of much of the city's poor and Mexican. Her Catholic beliefs and strict morals make her a straight-talking candidate eager to reform the city and set up programs that might help its large homeless population and protect its poorest.

Zhao Jaing

"Safety Beneath the Wings of the Dragon"

Madame Luli's favorite, Jaing champions Chinese rights and vows that the Charter's guarantee of universal suffrage will never be taken away.
Jaing has gained some support from Smith & Robards after she advocated for increasing ties with Shan Fan, and extending city funds to build an Airship Waystation between Brimstone and Shan Fan.

Colonel Whitaker

"One Nation, Under The Law"

Given Lone Star's interests in the area, Colonel Whitaker, station manager for the Denver-Brimstone line has put forward his candidacy. A platform built on law-and-order, his veterancy within the Rangers and service in the Mexican-American front has given him a sizable following amongst War Veterans and those who seek a more stable, united Brimstone without the involvement of the gang lords.
