Adventure 1.3: An Errand for Amalthea - Group 2, Session 2
General Summary
The morning after their encounter with the Marsh Alligator, the party took to the trail once more. After a few hours of being pestered by insects and haunted by the distant croaking sounds of some other swamp denizen, they finally had the opportunity to see what it was that was making all the eerie croaking sounds. They were surprised by a Boggard Scouting party which challenged them. Claiming that they were in Boggard lands, and must be in league with some "traitor" that they were hunting for, the boggards attacked. The party fought back and was able to dispatch the three scouts. After looting the bodies (and finding very little of value), they continued on their way.
While crossing the Malyra's Stream, they were surprised by the appearance of an elderly Boggard carrying a sack and a staff. The Boggard claimed to have been watching them and following them since their encounter with the Scouts. He also informed the party he was also headed for the Lizardfolk village that he had overheard them talking (complaining) about - and offered to show them the way there, as he was headed there himself.
At the Lizardfolk village, the Boggard was led into the settlement quickly while the Lizardfolk continued to look over the party. Finally, when questioned as to their intentions, the mention of Amalthea the Dryad got them immediately ushered into the village to await the chieftain's pleasure. Eventually, the chieftain appeared. He explained that he had evidence it was humans hunting and killing the Fey in the north. He also mentioned that while he understood why an Elf () would be interested in dealing with this threat, he wondered why halflings, gnomes, and dwarves would also be interested. And he questioned the loyalty of the half-elf. The session ends with the party being hosted by the Lizardfolk chieftain for an evening that the chieftain hopes is the beginning of better relations between a number of different peoples.
