Base Camp - Shops and Services

Marquis Spikeberry's Base Camp is the home-away-from-home for the Player Characters exploring the mysteries of the Forgotten Academy. Not quite the scale of a full-blown military encampment, it is nonetheless far larger and more comprehensive than any wilderness campsite adventurers may be accustomed to. The camp offers all of the goods, services, and amenities that a small, permanent village might provide.

The Quartermaster's Stores

Officially, this is the main logistics and supply hub for the entire expedition. All materials and supplies shipped into the camp pass through the Quartermaster's Store under the scrutiny of the Gnome Belgridane Cooligrood. Functionally, this is the General Store where the PCs can purchase common adventuring supplies. Prices for most items are reasonable.

The stores are usually well-stocked with basic supplies, but they may discover some items are not available. Provided they have not gotten on Belgridane's bad side, though, PCs may convince him to place orders for items not currently in stock. Delivery times would be measured in weeks, though.

Table ?? contains a full list of items available from the Quartermaster's Stores, along with prices.

The Bakery

The Smithy

Tarnula Flintchipper, the Dwarven blacksmith, is capable of repairing any items made of metal, provided the items have not surpassed their damage usefulness threshholds.

The Carpenter

The Tailor

The Tavern

The Healer's Tent

With regard to Laurels & Loot game mechanics, Spikeberry's Base Camp is considered to be a Safe Environment.

Characters gain the benefits associated with Injury healing while residing in the camp. Possessions not in a player character's inventory may be safely stored and accessed as well should the PC wish to re-equip between game sessions. It can be presumed that the player character arrived here with all of their possessions packed in trunks, sacks, or whatever.

Characers will find basic shops and services available here in order to keep them reasonably well-supplied and their equipment in good repair for their adventuring sessions. They will also find mentors capable of instructing them in a few Acquired Specialties, if they can afford the associated costs.
