Charlatan

Your business was to play upon the gullibility of others, whether to pass the time, or to earn your keep. You have learned to exaggerate and lie so well that these abilities are now almost second nature to you. You might have been a false fortune-teller, or sold snake oil. You may have simply been a practical joker. But you have behaved this way so much that it became a lifestyle - a lifestyle that is not conducive to making lasting friendships.

Career

Qualifications

Being charismatic is critical to being a successful Charlatan. Mastering the art of deception is key, and being able to put on a good performance is also helpful.

Career Progression

A competent charlatan's most natural progression into adventuring is to become a Scoundrel Rogue,, but any type of Rogue would do. This implies that you wish to build upon your experience rather than leave it behind.

In the event that you wish to turn over a new leaf, any other Adventuring class is possible. Your charismatic abilities would serve a Bard well -- or a Sorcerer, but any class is viable.

Perception

Social Status

Before your true nature is discovered, you may rise high in social circles. But as soon as your true nature - or rather your false nature - is discovered, you can expect a meteoric fall from favor. Often you will be finding yourself leaving town rather quickly.

Alternative Names

Cheat (or, more likely, "Dirty Lying Cheat")
