Amphull
Anatomy
Amphulls have very small heads atop long necks. Their necks are twice the length of their bodies, with fin-like appendages running along the backs of their necks and spines. Amphulls have large orange throat pouches, with rigid scales, that can fill with water and superheated to high temperatures to be used for attacking. Just underneath the parietal bone in the skull is an electric organ, which helps control electrical energy throughout the body.
They have two pairs of small legs with five tiny digits, each equipped with sensory pads that can detect the smallest of vibrations. Amphulls have short tails that can be rotated to help swim at higher speeds. Their anatomy has been largely dramatized with coastal communities, due to their seldom appearances.
Reproduction & Diet
Their reproductive cycles have not been studied on Greenerth, but their little information is valuable. Amphulls lay clumps of thousands of glowing yellow eggs on the seabed. Strong currents tend to rip the eggs off the rocks they're attached to and they float to the surface, where they are eaten by various seabirds and marine life.
It is suspected that amphulls lay eggs just once a year, and only lay one clump of eggs per individual. Both sexes can lay eggs, and are fertilised themselves. While it is a form of asexual reproduction, the offspring are not identical to the parent.
Diet
Amphulls have been seen consuming a variety of prey. As a large carnivorous species there few limits as to what they can eat. They have been recorded consuming a number of marine mammals, fish, crustaceans, and even targeting some seabirds by shooting their boiling water with pinpoint accuracy.
While they can produce their own electricity, they are better off absorbing it from other sources. They are capable of sneaking into thalassium generators, large electrical generators, and absorbing the electricity which cuts off the power to many settlements at a time. They can withhold this electricity forever and disperse it whenever they please. Amphulls use this to stun their prey, or combine it with their boiling water to cook their prey.
Habitats & Distribution
In their native home, the Horror Dimension, amphulls live in saltwater oceans. These oceans are constantly shifting in size and seabeds are always morphing into new shapes, so amphulls do not have a permanent place to call home.
Those capable of exploring the Horror Dimension with zero issues have recorded amphulls interacting with Stalker. Stalker is a massive being residing in a cocoon, and amphulls have been seen poking and prodding at the cocoon, seemingly trying to draw a reaction out of stalker just for their own enjoyment.
On Greenerth, amphulls live in the Tirensic Ocean. They live in deep waters just off the coast of the Western District, Nym and the Northern District. They occasionally travel inland to the coastlines, inspecting the coastal settlements, which causes great panic and fear in the community.
