Creatures of Maloruno
Maloruno is dominated by mammal species. These animals have evolved to fill most ecological niches, while other families such as birds and amphibians have very few members compared to mammals.
There are roughly 5.3 million mammal species on the planet, found on the ground, in the skies, and underwater. There are approximately 250 thousand insect species, 20,000 bird species, and 10,000 amphibian species.
- Accan Whale - A large mammal species. Accan whales live in the Accan Sea, where they prey on many other cetaceans and other animal species.
- Adaro - A small amphibian species. They have ten small appendages in the place of legs, that help them scuttle along the slow-moving riverbeds that they inhabit.
- Adilo - A small amphibian species. They have six webbed legs, which make them expert swimmers in the fast-moving streams and lakes that they inhabit.
- Erebeetle - A small insect species. They live on, and resemble, ereberry bushes. They are incredibly small, and often accidentally consumed by herbivores.
- Evver - A small bird species. Evvers are a sparkling purple, and can absorb water to make them appear larger to predators, in an attempt to intimidate them.
- Maze Bunny - A small mammal species. They live in colonies and camouflage from predators in large bushes. They follow the trails created by tunnel badgers.
- Maze Hawk - A large bird of prey species. Maze hawks have a wingspan of thirty feet, and are the largest flying bird species on the planet.
- Mycelial Worm - A small annelid species. Mycelial worms dig inside of fungi and wait for something to eat it, and they reproduce within the animal's internal organs.
- Rune Deer - A large mammal species. They live in large herds and slowly walk their way through the maze forests, consuming the tallest of the leaves.
- Runo - An intelligent scaled mammal species. Runos inhabit the entirety of the Southern Hemisphere, while white tigers inhabit the Northern Hemisphere.
- Tunnel Badger - A medium-sized mammal species. Tunnel badgers dig large tunnels just below the surface of the forests, creating maze-like paths that many other animals follow.
- White Tiger - A large mammal species. They inhabit the entirety of the Northern Hemisphere, while runos inhabit the Southern Hemisphere.
- Yusant - A large mammal species. Yusants inhabit the North Pole, and with a strong shovel beak, they scrape snow off vegetation to eat.
So many interesting creatures already! I'm looking forward to the millions of stubs! :D
