Domiri
Domiris are the people underneath the Prince-Domiri, working to protect their villages and make them a safe place for all. Their job is similar to city guards, they make sure people stay in line, not break rules and laws, and protect people from criminals.
Career
Qualifications
3 years of training go into this career. Since there are limited available jobs, private training is available, and arranged by the Prince Domiri. Training involves tasks such as managing crowds, social interactions etc. Various tests are taken through this 3 year course.
Payment & Reimbursement
Domiri receive an annual salary of 45 thousand corral. This is almost double the average annual salary in Kaltia, which is 25 thousand corral.
Perception
Purpose
The sole purpose of a domiri is to keep the villages and cities free from crime and danger, keep people from breaking the law, keep arguments from brewing, fights from brewing, just keeping the streets clean.
Social Status
The majority of citizens in the Frost Lands are all for the domiri. They believe their job serves a vital role in the community and that they do a good job in keeping the people in check, keeping people from danger and low level crime. However they also understand that some domiri like to abuse their power, start fights with citizens and then accuse the citizen of initiating the argument. These kinds of domiri never keep their job for more than a few years, as when enough civil complaints pile on they get investigated and most likely fired, much to the relief of the public.
Demographics
Only a handful of domiri exist in each village. They are an uncommon job to come across, private training is required so it takes a lot of effort to become one, effort not many are willing to put in. The length of time it takes to become initiated and become a fully fledged domiri is more than enough to put off people from attempting to become one.
History
The domiri system was first implemented back in the late 1500s, when the ruler of Zuizraca argued that crime in villages and cities was at an all time high and something needed to be done. The proposed domiri system took 3 years to develop despite how simple it was, and when reviewed by the Civilian State it was quickly authorised. The first domiris came into power in 1592, and in the upcoming years levels of crime shrunk by a maximum of 67%. Since then crime has never returned to the abundance it once was, and the domiri system was only developed further during the introduction of drugs in the Frost Lands, when the domiris became equipped with trackers, a species of reptile able to sniff out the drugs and would make arresting these people incredibly easy.
Operations
Tools
The most common item carried on a domiri is a stun ray. Stun rays shoot out a beam of light which can stun the criminal, making them fall to the ground in a shock, allowing easy arresting. The stun rays are carried by every domiri, and are one of the first tools learnt at private training.
Dangers & Hazards
Being a domiri, you are likely to encounter some dangers every day. Keeping people in line can be a dangerous job as people are completely unpredictable.
