Herbal Fruitcap
Herbal fruitcaps are a mushroom species abundant in the lowlands of the Equator Range on Maloruno. These mushrooms are harvested by lowland runos and used in medicine.
Anatomy
Herbal fruitcaps have a red and green colouration. Their caps grow to no more than three centimetres in diameter, with neon green chitin and dark red spots forming a ring around the centre of the cap. There are a sixty-five gills in each mushroom which rotate in a spiral shape towards the centre of the bottom of the cap.
The mushrooms themselves can grow to up to ten centimetres, the bulk of their height coming from the stems.
Uses
Farming is incredibly common in the lowlands of the Equator Range. Herbal fruitcaps are a great mushroom species to grow in small conservatories, as they require little monitoring and space. These fungi contain many nutrients which work well in medicines, clearing minor aches, headaches, and pains.
