Rock Golem
Rock golems were a species of magical creature from the Frost Mountain Range on Greenerth. Their existence is an anomaly, as they were not a naturally occurring species, but nobody knows who created them.
Anatomy
The only anatomical similarities each rock golem shared with each other was that they were comprised of large rocks, embedded with runes. These rocks were stacked on top of each other in different shapes; they would typically have two arms and two legs, with smaller rocks forming each digit. Their heads were also made of rock, with three holes dug out, serving as eyes. These eyes would glow a deep purple whenever the rock golems felt a strong emotion, like anger or love.Creation
It is completely unknown how these rock golems were created. They share zero resemblance to any other species in the area, or even on the planet for that matter. They had no evolutionary cousins, and simply appeared out of nowhere one day. Several reports say these golems wandered out of Mistfall Valley, a place containing the legendary bone snake. These reports yet to have been proven true or false, so in the mean time, people are left to wonder.Extinction
Their extinction is just as perplexing as their appearance. One day, about four hundred years ago, the rock golems just, stopped. Their functions as creatures just halted, and the rocks froze. For the last four hundred years, they have stood as lifeless monuments on top of a mountain overlooking Mistfall Valley. People watched for four days as the rock golems traversed the Frost Mountain Range, reaching this mountain and then simply stop existing. The golems are now a tourist attraction, only to be viewed from a distance as they are now rather fragile.Settlements
Rock golem settlements were very simple; they lived in large caves, dug out to fit the golem's towering size. Every morning and ever night, at 9am and 9pm respectively, the golems would leave the cave, spend the day wandering about the mountains and scribbling on large stone slabs, and then slumber back to their caves, where they would "sleep".Purpose
It is generally unknown what the purpose of these rock golems are, but there are a handful of theories. One theory is that the rock golems were documenting information on the mountain range, including the species of the area, as seen by sketches of some creatures on their stone tablets, paired with writings in an unknown language.
