We arose out of Chaos (as many of us do), into a world made of fire and darkness and places in Shadows. In our world, adults ruled, with a God who was all-powerful and all-knowing. Yet, they were fallible and dangerous, often twisted and thoughtless. As a child, I often wondered how someone so intelligent could place children, so vulnerable, into the hands of these adult creatures that often seemed so lost and ignorant themselves. Eventually, I came to the conclusion he would not. And so, at the tender age of six, I concluded that there was no God. We are the gods between heaven and earth. We make our own heaven and hell and everything in between. And the only way to experience true disappointment would be to expect more of humans than they were capable of giving. And thus it has been ever since.
