Wondrous Item
Legendary requires attunement by a humanoid Requires Attunement
This ancient iron crown was once worn by the kings of the dwarven city of Auldbaern, from the time of the city's founding until its fall when it was worn by their last monarch, King Aron II. It's front bares four large gems (a black sapphire, diamond, jacinth, and ruby) while eight additional smaller gems line its outer rim (a black opal, blue sapphire, emerald, fire opal, opal, star ruby, star sapphire, and yellow diamond). A detect magic spell reveals a magical aura of enchantment around the crown. The crown is linked to the stone golems of Auldbaern. While these golems normally appeared to be decorative statues, the crown's magic can animate them to assist with the city's defense in times of need. Should the crown be damaged, the stone golems will return to their pedestals and remain motionless until it is repaired and new orders are given to them. If the crown is destroyed, the stone golems are rendered forever incapacitated. The crown is subject to direct attack if it isn't being worn or carried. It has AC 19, 10 hit points, and immunity to poison and psychic damage. A humanoid that attunes to the crown and wishes to wield its power for the good of Auldbaern and its dwarven people can issue orders to the stone golems created for the city's defense. As an action, the crown's attuned wearer can try to reactivate the dormant golems, doing so with a successful DC 20 Intelligence (Arcana) check. The wearer must be within the city's walls for this effect to take place. The golems cannot travel more than 1 mile outside the city's walls.
