Tellus' Standard Reference
The Octopod casts spells at 5th level.
Consume: Once the Octopod has grappled its target, it will begin to consume it by excreting a thick laye of mucous that will envelop both the creature and its prey. The prey will be digested thusly, and absorbed through the outer layer of the Octopod's gelatinous body. Multiattack: The Octopod makes two psuedopod attacks, or makes one psuedopod attack and one bite attack. Constrict: if the Octopod and its prey are occupying the same space, the Octopod will wrap its gelatinous body around the unfortunate and begin to consume it. Superior Reach: The malleability of the Octopod's body allows it to stretch its psuedopods over quite a long distance.
Psuedopod:
+6 to hit, 1d8+3 damage, 15' Range
Upon hitting its enemy, the creature and its prey must make a contested strength check, with the prey being pulled 15' toward the Octopod on a failure. If the prey is pulled into the Octopod's space, it will constrict its prey until it becomes pliant enough to eat.
Comprised of a hole, or basin, of some sort, usually within a cave or other moist depression near the sea. Ideally, it will find an abandoned eel burrow, or otter den, that it can figure out a way to keep warm. Their lairs are littered with the bones of its victims, bleached white by the octopod's digestive mucous.
Damp caves near the ocean, subterranean lairs.
