The Recovery of the Edward Fitzwalace

Mod Report:

Players assaulted the boat and drove off the guards. They ended up leaving the boat peacefully, albeit undefended. The next Luckheed merc team to take the contract will not be so merciful (will put followup in the paper)

Mod Priority: Flexible Timing

Desired Timeslot: Daytime Saturday

NPCs Required: 1-2 Angler Pirate Crew, 2-3 Angler Civilians

Content Type: Social Delima

Summary:

Luckheed Industries has contracted mercenaries (probably from the Fallow Hopes) to retake a cargo vessel seized by Angler Pirates. The mission seems straightforward until it's discovered that the vessel now serves as a makeshift home for marginalized Angler Pirate community members who can't live underwater. The mercenaries must decide between fulfilling their contract to reclaim the vessel or finding a humane solution for its current inhabitants.

Hooks:

A lucrative contract from Luckheed Industries for those skilled in combat and negotiation. (See Handouts)

Details:

The mercenaries Players will navigate the choppy waters both literally and metaphorically as they are chosen as instruments of Luckheed Industries to execute a simple mission: retake the vessel and return it to its commercial lifeline. Upon boarding, they will be met with resistance or pleas from the pirates and displaced occupants. While the engagement can end in various ways, from a peaceful negotiation that seeks to find a new home for the displaced, to a forceful eviction overboard, to a total bloodbath, players will have to decide what to do after overpowering or outright cowwing the under-equipped garrison force The high ground has a price, however: Luckheed will only pay a red shell if the vessel is recovered. The vessel itself is in disrepair from lack of maintainance and parts, and several critical components have been jury-rigged together. With some elbow grease and some fair scrap, the ship can be repaired from the damage neglect has caused.   Savvy Players (Those with at least Proficient Sailing and Citizenship in Dominus Columbia) may note one crucial detail: Out here, this ship is legitimate salvage if cleared of illegal occupants. Nothing *compels* a successful crew to return the vessel to Luckheed...

Rewards:

200 Shells for recovery of the vessel to the local port under it's own power. 100 shells for recovery good enough that a crew can be sent out to get the vessel operational again. A Boat if players know the law and are particularly Mercenary (but then, thats why they were hired). (See Leighton if Players decide to evict the dwellers and keep the Boat).
