(Real world: Sling) A ranged weapon that consists of two braided cords (made of flax, hemp, or wool) supporting a rhomboid leather cradle or pouch, slitted to better allow the leather to wrap around the projectile. Range depends on the length of the sling. One cord ended in a finger loop, the other in a tab or knot. Stones or balls clay purpose-made from baked clay ranging in size from a walnut to a fist were used as ammunition.
