A carrion crawler is a burrowing monstrosity that scavenges dead and occasionally living creatures. Originating in the Far Realms, carrion crawlers have found themselves in Holos and now reside on every continent, patrolling battle fields and refuse heaps for decaying flesh.
Carrion crawlers follow their keen senses to wherever decaying flesh can be found. They are remarkably hardy, being able to survive in almost any environment provided enough nourishment. Though they are poor burrowers, they avoid living creatures as long as they are not hungry, and so often find themselves using underground passages to find their prey and hide from predators.
