This skill covers general medicinal knowledge, knowledge of diseases, poisons and toxins and how they affect different species. This skill is important for managing ongoing diseases, identifying poisons and knowing how to deal with them.
Medicine also involves generalized medicinal care of the ill and injured.
With this skill, a person can treat an ill or injured person, rolling once per day. A successful check makes a single Wound heal on the next rest, often on the night to the following day. The character being treated has to be resting for the healing effect to work. If the check fails or the character is not resting, is disturbed or otherwise interferes with the healing, the skill check only removes a single day of healing instead.
Treating an individual with medicine is a full time job, and you may only devote your focus to one patient each day, unless you possess Medicinal Efficiency.
