Daggers are a military weapon meant for combat. As such they're significantly longer than knives and either have a double edged blade or no edge at all, instead having a triangular cross-section. Daggers have a sturdy grip, larger pommel and quillons to protect the hand. Some daggers, primarily the more expensive main gauge daggers, have swept hilts. A dagger blade is usually sharply pointed, allowing for very strong stabs and thrusts. A common dagger is between three to four palms long and have a blade that is just over half of that length.
