Overview & Creation

The allure of anonymity and the power of the unknown. The followers of The Mask understand the power that belongs in mystery and can tap into a hidden magic gifted to those who are beholden to namelessness and those willing to let it all go.

Class Features

Arcane Mask

When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with the disguise kit and two of the following: Acrobatics, Performance, or one kind of gaming set. You may, on a short or long rest, spend 10 minutes to craft a mask for yourself that covers your face. While wearing your mask, you have advantage on Performance and Deception checks. Additionally while wearing your mask, you may cast the vicious mockery cantrip using charisma as your spellcasting modifier.

Phase

Starting at 3rd level, you can also use Cunning Action to take the Phase action, When you do so you become semitransparent, can move through difficult terrain without expanding any additional movement, and can move through non-magical objects and creatures. If you end your turn inside an object or creature, you are thrown to the nearest unoccupied space and take force damage equal to the number of feet you are moved. You can use this feature a number of times equal to INT + PB per long rest.

Ghastly Visage

Starting at 9th level, your mask begins to warp itself to be more brutal and merciless. Whenever an enemy fails its save against your vicious mockery, the first attack you make against that enemy before the end of your next turn has advantage.  In addition, while wearing your mask you are immune to being charmed.

Hidden Eye

By 13th level, your mask has attuned itself to you and the world around you, giving you an otherwordly sense. You can see into the Ethereal Plane when you are on the Material Plane, and vice versa. In addition you gain 10 feet of Blindvision, if you already have Blindvision or recieve another source of Blindvision later on, this range increases up to 30 feet.

The Final Aspect

Starting at 17th level, when you are reduced to 0 hit points and are not killed outright, you can choose to drop to 1 hit point instead and immediately go under the effects of Phase and disappear into the Ethereal Plane, becoming invisible and unable to produce sound. Any attack that hits an enemy deals 4d6 extra damage of your weapon's type. This effect lasts for a number of rounds equal to your INT + PB and ends early if you fall unconscious or end the effect early as a bonus action. Once you use this ability, it cannot be reused until you complete a long rest.
