Weapon
Legendary Requires Attunement
Performer's friend
Once per day, an attuned performer may ask for accompaniment from the bow politely. The bow then takes on one of two accompaniment forms depending on the situation. Performance checks made with hollyphant accompaniment in either form are made with advantage. This property recharges each dawn regardless of the form used.
- If they have a violin on their person a small spectral hollyphant with a tiny instrument of the performer's choice appears and plays along for one song. The hollyphant is incorporeal, gives off a dim light for 5 feet, and cannot be harmed, though it can be dispelled.
- If they have no violin, the hollyphant appears and becomes an ivory and gold violin with strings made of radiant light for 1 song. This violin functions just as a normal violin would but damn if it doesn't look fancy.
Heckler's enemy
As a bonus action an attuned wielder can tell the bow it is "show time," at which point it transforms in to an ivory hand crossbow with a hollyphant motif, the bow tips resembling cherub wings. When in this state the bow has the following properties:
- When you hit with an attack using physical ammunition that is loaded in to and fired from this bow, the attack deals an additional 1d6 radiant damage.
- If no ammunition is loaded, one piece of magical ammunition appears and deals 1d6 radiant damage on a hit. This ammunition appears to be made of radiant light and disappears the instant it damages or misses its target.
This item resembles an ivory violin bow with cherubic carvings of small hollyphants. It is a high quality piece with intricate detailing and golden inlays. Touching it to the strings of an instrument that requires a bow to play causes a quiet hum that makes one's hair stand on end with anticipation.
A hollyphant in their average form.
