  I agree with OP about being aware that its in other places but not being convenient. Yes it appears when you save but you don't edit an article every time you open it, right?

  Moving the entire "last saved XX time" indicator, including word count, to where the save button is/was and making it bigger would overall be a huge help. No functionality would change, just the location and size of what already exists.

  Even though it does pop up when you save, but I’ve really enjoyed having an easily visible word counter for WorldEmber and I’d love to see something similar stick around!

  Throwing my coins at a Theiket. Also, yes please! My goldfish brain can never remember how many words I've written. The save indicator can be very tiny, and the metadata requires a lot of button clicks. Having it higher up would be a great QoL addition

  *tosses coins* I'd love to have it more visible.   For those that don't, can always have a toggle on the settings page - same place as you set your world word count - with "Only show article word count in its metadata section" or something similar.
