Ability to link articles to an specific Era in a timeline

Feature Upgrade · Timelines · Created by DyslexicMoose

What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

When you add a historical event in a timeline, the UI lets you attach specific articles (Characters, Organizations, etc) to the event. Unfortunately, you cannot do the same thing when you add or edit and Era.   I would love it if the same UI for linking articles to historical events was present for Era's so that you could attach important articles to that era. Specifically, I would love to be able to attach a more in depth wikipedia style article about the Era. So you could see the major events in the Era and then click on articles important to that specific Era.   this seems like a very small feature upgrade that would provide a large quaility of life improvement for authors making timelines.

How does this feature request address the current situation?

This would allow creators the ability to link articles that are important for the specific Era.

What are other uses for this feature request?

This would allow creators lots of flexibility to link important articles about specific era's in there histories. For example, if magic works differently in different Era's, a author could link an article explaining how magic works in a specific era. If the Era is defined by specific technology, flying steampunk ships, a author could link an article about that vehicle to the Era. If the Era had other defining feature that need to be explained in depth articles could be link to the Era explaining the important concepts.

I'm in the middle of working on a very long timeline with many eras and I have a high level historical summary article with detailed child articles for most of the eras. It would be nice to also be able to link these articles to the corresponding eras in the timeline.

Been looking for this for a while.   Being onl able to use base articles seems like an arbitrary move and I sometimes just have to recreate articles to make use of time lines
