Link articles to timelines for important dates

timeline character event- article

What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

The only elements that appear in timelines are either events or eras (that I know). This means users have to write two pages for the same event. Of note: there are already article templates that use the same world calendar system that is used by Timelines (like birth and death dates for character articles).

How does this feature request address the current situation?

An article about a war could be seamlessly linked to a Timeline, including the start/end date, without having to use two different pages (article and Timeline event) for the same event.

What are other uses for this feature request?

Similarly, a Timeline could show, for instance, a linked character's birth, death or lifespan. Being able to link an article to a Timeline would be a way to show important dates in the Timeline that are present in the metadata of that character (the same way it's already used to display age).

Follow up

I literally came back to my Timeline and noticed this is already a feature. User Fociño also corrected me in this regard. Please feel free to close this request :)
ACTUALLY, follow up of the follow up. I was incorrect, and so was Fociño. You can create links from events that already exist. You can't, however, add existing ARTICLES to the timeline. For example, I have a timeline that says "History of Blahblahland", and in that timeline, I want it to show all the royals' birth and death dates. Those character articles are already created, but I would still have to create an event for those births, deaths or character lifespans individually.   In my suggestion, what I meant is I would like an option, when editing the ARTICLE, to link that character to a timeline. Then, maybe add a checkbox next to each date in the metadata showing whether I want that to appear in the timeline I linked the character to. It would then automatically appear in that timeline as an event (e.g.: Death of King Snarky McSnarkface the First).

You can link them already; I constantly do. There's an option for it in the interface of the Timeline event; it's the "Connections" button. You can link a general article PLUS a location article PLUS a species article PLUS a session article PLUS character and organization articles lol.
