Session 33 - Dragon Ages - Report

General Summary

Date: 10-15-283   After Tally slipped away from the party following the summoning of the Sentinel in the forest, he made his way back to Naporia... riding on YoncĂ© of course. Once back in the city, he - along with Gaidaros - went back to Madame Alec's House of Pleasure to finally discuss Madame Alecstraza's proposition. The madame offered to recruit followers for Gaidaros, thereby increasing his standing as a deity, and in exchange she asked them to retrieve a sword that was taken from her long ago. A sword, "Entu's Retribution", taken by a powerful demon. A familiar demon. The same demon, in fact, that recently made in appearance in Naporia. All the information she gave them though was that the sword would most likely be kept in some kind of trophy room in the demon's castle because he's "an arrogant prick". Gaidaros agreed to do it for the exposure, while Tally agreed to do it for money... 2500 gold to be exact (despite trying to argue for more).   After leaving Madame Alec's, Tally briefly went to the Mage's Academy to inquire about the existence of a particular rune. Master Vollibard, while not knowing of such a rune offhand, promised to do a bit of research and see what turned up. After leaving the academy, Tally was met by some of Brax's underlings, informing him that his companions were spotted outside the city, travelling up into the mountains. With that, he too set off to meet them... or at least keep tabs on them.   Meanwhile, the rest of the Gang finds themselves face to face with an adult white dragon. Thinking back to his prior tactics in Morkov's Sanctuary, Master Roshi once again intentionally activated the dart trap near the entrance so he could intercept the darts and use them against the dragon. Unfortunately, he failed to realize that the rest of his party members were directly in the path of the darts, so upon activating the trap, Lyra, Moriko, Naemaris and Alexander were all poisoned. Even being poisoned though, the party made quick work of the dragon, drawing quite a bit of blood before the creature even had a chance to attack. Even Izel and Nadir got their hits in, both throwing poisoned daggers while diving between cover. After their barrage of daggers, however, Lyra mysteriously vanished.   Shortly after the dragon got his chance to blast the Gang with his icy breath, Tally and Gaidaros arrived on the scene. While approaching the icy reptile from behind, Gaidaros suddenly felt a rush of power and, as if recalling a distant memory, realized he knew how to Teleport. Utilizing this new (or remembered) power, he vanished off the back of YoncĂ© and materialized directly in front of the dragon, tentacle whip in hand, and unleashed a hurricane of tentacles on the mighty beast. Tally, on the other hand, attempted to poison the dragon with the blinding powder known as "Malice". Yelling at his party members to hold their breath, he released his poison while running in front of the beast and, miraculously, poisoned nobody... including the dragon. Alexander likewise tried to poison the dragon, also failing unfortunately.   Around this time, Naemaris felt a strange warmth coming from the Gang's bag and remembered the strange orb the party had collected while exploring the cabin at Lake Hygarn. Knowing their was an inverse relation between the orb's temperature and the ambient temperature, Naemaris decided to hurl the orb at the dragon. Unfortunately, the orb just barely grazed the top of the creature's head and rolled into the cave. Fortunately, the dragon was put down not long after, so the orb wasn't particularly needed.   With their "mighty" foe slain, the Gang went back into the cave to search for Lyra. They found no trace of her, save her shadow on the wall, frozen as she was when she disappeared. With their friend missing and needing a bit of a break themselves, the party decided to make camp. Roshi decided to meditate in an attempt to communicate with Madame Sperantza, hoping she may offer some guidance. While he did succeed in his attempt to reach her, the only advice she offered was, "Death will come soon". Fairly certain this "advice" was not as ominous as it sounded, Roshi's suspicions were quickly confirmed with appearance of Antanasia who had an offer for the Gang. Antanasia offered to aid the party in taking down the demon lord responsible for all the turmoil around Cyradon, but only if they could recover the gem that was stolen from the palace in Tel'Nasarith, as this would draw the demon out of the Abyss and into the material plane.   After disappearing from the battle, Lyra found herself in a familiar room with stone walls lined with books and an almost eternal twilight outside; the library of The Shadowed Vale. Looking around the room she had come to know so well while living with Vontine, Lyra saw a trail of blood leading out the double doors. Following the blood trail out of the library, around the second floor balcony, down the staircase and finally out the front doors, Lyra hesitantly opened the doors to see the trail continue out into the snow... and heard the familiar voice of Lillith, seemingly back from the dead, say, "Welcome back."
