Session 4 Report
General Summary
On the evening of September 26, 7328, the crew of the Mirage went to the brass hook for their meeting with Mine Johnson. They arrived early and ate dinner, leaving some time for Valentina Nightingale to play some pool, enhanced by her telekinetic powers. At 9:00 pm, Mine Johnson came to their table seeking Emerton Pax. They made their introductions and they invited Mine to sit at their table while they discussed business. Emerton passed over his compad, with a list of five things they were hoping he could acquire for them. Mine looked over the list and gave them a price for each. The crew settled for four of the things on the list which fit their budget. The fourth item on their list was a little more than they wanted to pay with their limited funds. Mine told them it would take about three days to gather these items and they settled for delivery to their ship. The meeting ended and Mine left the Brass Hook, followed by two men who appeared to be either bodyguards or hired muscle. The next morning, on September 27, 7328, Nikos Breton searched for any simple shipping jobs posted at the dock where their ship was. He found one delivering 2,000 kilos worth of good to a mining colony on the local moon, Arellia. The job was for September 29, 7328, the day Mine was supposed to be delivering their goods. They discussed it and decided to accept the job, hoping to earn some fast money and be back before Mine came looking for them. On the morning of September 29, 7328, they accepted the goods and loaded them on to their ship. Then they flew to Arellia and delivered them. It was a simple job and upon confirmation of delivery, the credits were deposited into an account they had created for the crew. They returned to Godoron, Touthas, at about 1:00 pm. Mine Johnson contacted them as they were landing to inform them he would be delivering the goods at 4:00 pm. They waited on the ship until then and the goods arrived as promised. They had uniforms for Ferrous Shipping, two access cards, some line shunts, and floorplans for Ferrous Shipping. They spent some time looking over the floorplans and devised their plan for infiltrating the building. Later, they went shopping for clothing, business casual. Emerton would be playing the role of the supervisor leading Nikos, the technician around for some urgent updates on a handful of computers in the office. They selected clothing to help play the part and got dressed for their rolls. Then the rest of the crew took a taxi to a bar near Ferrous Shipping and then walked over to the spot where Charlotte Gibbons and Nikos had previously done their reconnaissance work. A short while later, Emerton and Nikos took a taxi to Ferrous Shipping. From the crew’s lookout spot, they watched Emerton and Nikos arrive and enter the building. Ferrous Shipping headquarters was largely empty, save for some maintenance robots performing their programmed duties. Emerton and Nikos proceeded to the second floor, an area they identified on the map to likely have several cubicles, and therefore computers. Nikos got to work on one terminal, hacking in and searching for all information on the Valcon Technologies contract, specifically as related to Mathisi I. He looked it over and learned the protocols for shipping to the station and found the next scheduled delivery on October 2, 7328. Then he programmed the Mirage as a registered transport in the database. The crew of the ship had to be Ferrous employees, and could not be independent contractors. So Nikos hacked into the human resources systems and programmed five new employees. Titta Morco, Selia Roselyn Maxwell, Auren Sylynn, Ladigo Farthon, and Mogi Delvin. Then he requested access card for each. While he was doing this, a security guard approached. Emerton intercepted him and produced his compad with forged work orders Nikos had created earlier. The security guard seemed to accept it and left them alone. When Nikos was done, they had to go to human resources to pick up the printed access cards. They caught up with the guard and Emerton informed him they had one more terminal to update in HR. The guard let them know it was on the third floor. Emerton thanked him and Nikos and he proceeded to HR. There was no one there when they arrived so they began searching around for the machine that would have made the access cards. It took a few minutes, but Emerton found the machine and five freshly printed cards. He took them and they proceeded to exit the building through a side door on the first floor Charlotte and Nikos had seen a number of employees use for smoke breaks during their recon days ago. Valentina, Charlotte, and Kane Longwitton saw them exit. They then all met up and returned to their hotel and settled in for the night. In the morning they discussed their plan for infiltrating Mathisi I, creating another wish list. Emerton contacted Mine Johnson and scheduled an urgent meeting. They met that morning at the Brass Hook. The bar was closed, but they knocked on the door and were allowed in. Mine Johnson and his men were inside. They sat at a table with him and made their requests. Any information on Mathisi I that they requested, he declined, stating it would be beyond his scope to acquire it safely or efficiently. But the grenades, shape charges, and industrial strength cutting tools, he could acquire for them on such short notice. He would have them delivered by the end of the next day. The party stayed in the rest of the day and discussed their approach for Mathisi I. They went over various scenarios, not really knowing what to expect. That evening while they slept, Valentina dreamt for the first time since awakening from the virtual reality simulation. Her surroundings were hazy and indistinct. But she heard a familiar voice calling out repeatedly, “Titta, Titta…” It was the voice of Pyzar Zim from “The Heart of Embril.”
