Session 7 Report

General Summary

Robots and guards pressed forward as the crew of the Mirage engaged them in a firefight. Charlotte Gibbons and Emerton Pax ran to the other side of the room and took cover behind the receptionist desk. Valentina Nightingale, Nikos Breton, and Kane Longwitton remained just one side of the hallway, trying to avoid fire from around the corner, while firing back. The party suffered several wounds before eventually defeating the guards and robots. After the fight, Valentina used her healing ability to stabilize two of the fallen guards before they succumb to their injuries. These guards were tied up and placed along one of the walls. Valentina also healed the rest of the party until they were all ready to continue.   Nikos accessed the terminal at the receptionist desk and took control of the elevator locking out the station security from using it. Then he hacked into the elevator’s surveillance system and put the feed on loop, to prevent them from knowing when the party took it back up. Shortly thereafter, though, the party did take the elevator up and were greeted by another security force, lined up in the main corridor.   The guards were caught somewhat by surprise as they had lost connection to the elevator cameras. The party opened fire. They took wounds from the return fire as they were all stuck within the elevator. Emerton laid down on the floor across the doorway to prevent the elevator from closing. After several rounds of fire, the party took down all the robots and most of the guards. They offered the last guard a chance to surrender. Without answering, he turned and ran towards the docking bay doors. They party shot him down before he could get them opened. Valentina then healed the guards that were still alive and they tied them up.   The party then went to the armory, located down one of the side corridors. Nikos unlocked the door and they looted it for any guns, power cells, and armors they could find. They ordered the assistant robots to carry all their loot to the Star Finder and return for more.   While the robots went into the docking bay, the party visited the control room. Nikos unlocked the door and they went in, ordering the employees within to one side of the room. They tied them up and left them against one of the walls while Nikos hacked into their computer system. He unlocked the security shield in the docking bay and gave the Star Finder access to leave. He also shut down the stations defense systems to prevent them from firing upon them when they attempted to fly away.   When they were done in the control room, they went across the hall to the security manager’s office. He was not in the office and they did not find anything useful, so they went to the medical bay, hoping to find some valuable medical supplies. In the medical bay, they found a doctor and two nurses tending to the crew of the Star Finder. They tied everyone up and took whatever stims and emergency medical supplies they could find.   Next they went to the docking bay and headed for the ship. There were no guards to be seen. Nor did they see the assistant robots carrying the goods. When they reached the ship and boarded, however, they found both. Guards and security bots were waiting for them. The assistant bots were there as well, standing as cover for the security team.   The cargo hold was crowded with robots, guards, and crates. The party had to maneuver to get a clear shot against the security bots and guards. Charlotte and Emerton took one side and Kane and Nikos took to the other. When Nikos was downed by enemy fire, Valentina went over to that side as well to use her psychic healing ability. The party cut through robots and guards until there was only one guard left. Emerton ordered him to surrender, but the guard turned and ran down the ramp and into the docking bay. Nikos and Charlotte ran after the guard and shot him as he tried to run back into the facility.   Valentina healed the guards and they tied them up. They set them down in the docking bay and the crew made ready to launch, eager to escape Mathisi I. As they flew away from the research station, Nikos’ hacks of the system proved true and the weapons systems did not fire upon them.   They flew the Star Finder to where they had left the Mirage, taking a circuitous route. When they reached their ship, Charlotte, Kane, and Emerton, boarded it while Valentina and Nikos remained on the Star Finder. Kane flew the Mirage and they took both ships to Mudaros 4, an ice giant not likely to see too much traffic. They found one of its many deserted moons, avoiding any with mining colonies, and landed both ships. Then they transferred the cargo from the Star Finder to the Mirage. They left the stolen ship completely powered down. But instead of leaving the moon, they decided to remain for about a week while they could recover from the many injuries they had suffered. Once they were sufficiently rested and recuperated, they would make their way to Constellation Alpha to complete the job.
