Following a terrible defeat, the Iron Port Free Company is hired by Queen Maria of Vinion. She fears that a faction of the nobility may attempt to force her to abdicate, claiming that she murdered the king and the princess. She needs the company in case things come to a head.   The truth is seldom as it appears, however, and soon the Iron Port Free Company is drawn into a tangled web of politics and intrigue. Who can the officers of the company trust? Can they successfully navigate the complicated web of court intrigue?
