General Summary

Mervin is convinced to join. They pay Squid to help wrangle some more sailors.   Big Richard feels Lil D die, and hoping it's in accordance with his instructions, resummons Lil D as a parrot to communicate. Lil D parrots some of Distow's words.   Distow says if he is unable to see the party again, that they can access his bank account in Kingsfield with his name and the passphrase "A man remembers."   At Amarille's, she takes Big Richard to a back room so that she can talk candidly: she reveals that the other night she was at the Innocent Doe and Rembrandt was taken prisoner by inquisitors after he refused to talk about the whereabouts of the party or a certain ruby ring.   Big Richard, made over, resolves to free his friend. He relays the information to Lephnut.
