Session 15 Report

General Summary

Buns and Nyx waited in the room with Mary for the healer Ethel, while Hel and Loopty waited in the room across. As Ethel walked in she seemed startled at the unexpected visitors, she would not speak however until Treyvon, the innkeeper, had left. After some cajoling by Buns she revealed that she was indeed a hag, however she revealed she was not responsible for the deaths. Once she had agreed to a zone of truth she told the party that she was a part of a coven, however she had attempted to abandon it, her sisters were not as kind as she was and attempted to chase her down, to either force her to re-join, or kill her so they could reform their coven with another. Buns and Nyx agreed to help by dealing with her sisters while Ethel left town. Ethel then proceeded to cast a magic on Mary that made her forget about this conversation and to believe that Ether herself had healed her.   Buns, Nyx and Ethel went to re-join Hel and Loopty, however upon Ethel reaching the bar two inquisitors confronted her, saying that they had been hunting signs of magic and that she is to be questioned by a Judge that was arriving in town soon. The party intervened, and once the inquisitors realised they were dealing with more arcane individuals they turned hostile, even spitting at Nyx. Incensed the party forced the inquisitors to leave, Ethel terrified of the arrival of a Judge warned the party that they had to leave now. Gathering their things the party quickly left in two groups, Hel and Loopty, who had gone unnoticed went to gather their horses, while Nyx, Buns, and Ethel attempted to sneak through town in order to leave, however they unfortunately ran right into the Judges group arriving into town. After running away, and with some help from illusory magic from Ethel they escaped their pursuers and regrouped with the rest of the party.   After leaving Velnor the party travelled to Harvess, during this time Loopty received a response from Mellor telling Loopty that he wanted to meet him at a Tavern called the Leaky Cauldron before he attempted to approach Harvess Tower. Upon arriving at Harvess the gates were guarded by members of a group Loopty recognised, the Spellsinger guards, which was mostly made up of current students at the Tower. Suspicious of their presence the guards asked their professor, Veran Brightsword, to see the group. Veran, recognising Loopty, allowed the party in, however she warned Loopty of further experimentation, and that she would have to inform the Head of the Academy Jane Harrow, and that she would probably want to meet with them. The party then proceeded to the Leaky Cauldron to wait for Mellor to arrive.
