You sit down to family dinner. You hear a popping noise and feel an air pressure shift. You blink and find yourself sitting in a new room, around a new table about 10 feet across and round. On the table is a little wargaming size model of your home and property. It sits on a low plateau now. Your family is with you around the table. As is a strange man about 4 and a half feet tall. He's bald up top, with a bowl of long silver white hair around the side of his head. No facial hair. He smiles a disarmingly charming smile with a little twinkle in his eye as he speaks in a strange language that you seem to understand somehow. "Welcome to The Great Game, I am Game Master. Your participation is not negotiable. Your old life is over. You are beginning anew on a new world. You need to review the books on the table and select your starting class, race, and background. Once each of you have locked in your choices by writing them on your character sheet things can get started." And with that he is gone when you next blink or break eye contact. You open the books after looking around the room and discovering you can't open the door or damage the greystone floor. The door is made of the same greystone. Inside the first book, The Player's Primer Guide according to the cover, says you will maintain all your memories from your last life. You will not however maintain the same proficiencies with tools/weapons/armor and other skills. That will need to be rebuilt. As such, choose wisely. You will be provided the starting equipment of your choice from the listed options in the classes and backgrounds starting equipment sections. You may choose either your deep freezer or your refrigerator to continue to function magically, but other than that all of your electronic equipment will no longer work in this world. This world is full of what you would have called monsters in the life you came from. Some are, some aren't. Some look like you expect, some don't. What will help you survive?
