Session XIX: Jolie's Murder Mystery Report

General Summary

Jolie hosted a murder mystery dinner with some of their classmates in honor of Lilli's birthday. Though at the beginning of the gathered table, Jolie is nowhere to be found. Instead, they have sent in Brisa, a maid from the Silver Flame church to serve food, open the door and clean. Soon after, Flip decided to find Jolie and found their room locked. Knocking, red liquid pools under the door, which he promptly breaks, only to find the room empty, and a key felled into the pool of blood. The start of the game is announced (in parts to avoid security getting called) and everyone gets an envelope with their role within. A heavy session of roleplay and investigation between the roles occurred. Most but Artemis got into character, with Flip going on the grandiose, and Lilli into deep observation. It took time, debates, confrontations and dealings before all sat for a meal. During the meal, each professed their suspicions, and it began pretty divided, until eventually, Flip and Lilli were the main two suspect. In the end, the vote went against Lady Whistlebottom, who proved guilty as charged. Brisa revealed to be Jolie in disguise (which triggered Margo to leave) and the session ended on otherwise friendly and fun terms. The group is now set to start year 4...

A down on their luck mage who's a month away from getting kicked out of Morgrave for lack of tuition funds. Misty has been trying to develop close ties to Jolie to gain access to the wealthy connections they hold, to find a new patron.
Margot: Evie Wiles
A notorious gambler and shady entrepreneur. Evie is attending in the hopes of receiving funds from Jolie for a new venture in Sharn that helps people float.
Gwen: Frannie Silverton
A well off reporter who touts high investigative virtues, but is being blackmailed by Jolie. Frannie previously accepted an enormous bribe to write something in the paper, but got caught. Frannie is desperate to get the upper hand against Jolie.
Annabelle: Florence Whiting
A well mannered (if a bit shy) younger member of the Church of the Silver Flame. Florence was invited as someone being introduced into a higher status in the Church and is meant to learn from Jolie and start building connections with reputable people. However, she is secretly a lycanthrope and is desperate to keep this secret hidden.
Devon: Lord Pembroke
A young noble seeking a spouse. Pembroke was planning to initiate a relationship with Jolie, given their station and relative wealth. Pembroke has anger issues, and will be quick to accuse and instigate conflicts. He may well set his sights on some other wealthy member of the party for a potential spouse.
Brisa
A maid from House Drosin in Thrane. Brought to Sharn to assist Jolie in running the party.
