Session XVII: The Race Report

General Summary

The session starts direct at race time, with just a bit of time to discuss strategy, from traps and ropes and the likes. Artemis, Corius and Gwen, the selected competing team, is also present. The loop, a long course with various hurdles is laid.   On the go mark, Gwen and Flip run neck and neck, using dash as the main strategy, while the short and slower folk take the back. The others are all on the offensive, with shots pulled and Corius picked up and tied up, passed like a football. The plan of Jolie to string him up a tree is abandonned as Artemis closes in, and Lilli helps with various attack tactics, including the Knot and bow spell to tighten Corius's restraints.   Taking a lead, they chase after Flip, who is in the front, flirting with Gwen (who flirts back - a diner date is set). The group passes the spiked wall easily (by going around) but all Flip shares with the others is also shared with the opponents. Most climb the cliff ok, with Flip having a BIT of trouble, and Corius, now untied, struggling. Flip could have screwed him over but helps him, by not pushing him off the cliff. Going through the tall grasses, Jolie and Lilli are on the offensive against Artemis, hitting back and forth with Lilli and Jolie near downed, and Flip soon as bad, as Corius catches up and shoots. They come to a bridge that is cut off, and down Artemis, with Gwen the only one on the right side who also gets tied up. With that much advantage, the group can then casually continue, even if Flip went down and nearly fell off the chasm, but was healed and brought back ok and on time. Now, the character traps (a.k.a. mining nodes with valuables that would take time to collect) no longer have impacts, and the group crosses the line with their pockets full, hearing in the distance that Artemis, back to conscious, tried to toss Corius over and dropped him in the chasm, only seeing the teacher rush off to aid.   Corius, then leaves the program for good, but not after sending a creepy 'admirer' letter to Jolie, for loving their 'ruthless' nature. A date with Flip and Gwen is then had in IC chat and the group gainst a level.
