Session 7. The missing shipment of iron Report

General Summary

From the moment they stumbled across the broken down cart, Ernesto and Gertrude had to decide whether or not to pursue the potential missing shipment or return to Plungehome to report. But knowing the importance of their task, they pushed ever onwards to whatever fate may befall them.   And so they treaded deeper and deeper into the Forest. As they advanced, following the tracks through mud and torn plant life alike, they met with wolves, strange sobbing in the distance and other critters still. Finally, their journey came to a head upon meeting a strange white and immaculate figure which stared at them from amidst a coil of brambles and twisting branches. It stared unblinking. Uncaring.   They attempted to bypass this staring figure and crawled through the mud until... until they passed it and came to realize that it was a statue of sorts. Inanimate and uncaring.   Pushing forward, they came across a small wooden palisade, makeshift and bound together with cloth and rope alike. Gertrude announced her presence and after a quick stand-off, which Ernesto almost escalated into conflict, they were to meet the leaders of this compound.   They learned that the leader is an Orc calling himself Chief Bhur Warmaul, and he is leading a group of bandits in a mobile caravan settlement which they call Beggar's Rest. They go around scavenging and stealing what they need, empowering exiles and dispossessed which may have been banished from their communities. Or at least that is the story they tell. Gertrude and Esteban also learned that they not only have the iron from the shipment, but more importantly, that they also have the Quiets still as captives.   If they want the iron and the captives, then they have to perform a little favor. To go to the Digs and ensure that there is an open trade venue for the bandits to receive shipments of iron as well, negotiations for which in the past have fallen through. To this effect, they will be accompanied by one of the halflings in the bandit group, a woman by the name of Meria Bucklebee, who will lead them to the Digs and guide them through and into what they can do to fulfill the bargain.   After this, they were given permission to stay at the bandits' barracks for the night, to be allowed to depart whenever they saw fit...
