Session 2: The Hunt for Silverfoil. Report

General Summary

After considering their next options, Lyon and Willy have decided that the best course of action would be to track the Halflings to their dwelling.   After coming across a pumpkin patch with an unassuming little cottage half buried into a hill, the duo has decided to approach. There they would find Evelynn Merrywine and her clan of Halflings. Though initially not very receptive, Evelynn soon received the group with a little more warmth after being returned the signet ring and a note from the fallen halfling they'd come across.   Once inside the Merrywine burrows, our duo has found that they were indeed the cause for the lack of Silverfoil on the shores of the Silvertream. Eveylynn then told the duo that they're facing issues with something spreading corruption through the woods and animating the forest into blights which have caused some casualties. Evelynn then made clear that there is ongoing animosity between Plungehome and the Merrywine clan, and that if they wanted the Silverfoil they would need to earn it.   Thus two tasks were made clear. Retrieve the corpse of Cousin Bungwater from the place where it was being used as target practice so it can be given a proper burial and find the source of the blights.   After agreeing to the terms, they were allowed to spend the night and were given soup and company. Lyon offered his help in nursing one of the halflings back to health, all the while finding himself the object of fascination from a younger halfling girl, who sought to learn from Lyon how to best take care of her older brother.   Willy on the other hand, as slick as he can be acquired a small sack of blackpowder after befriend a pair of halfling youths who were attempting to put on a funny little lightshow for the other people in the mess hall.   The following day, Lyon and Willy set out to retrace their steps and after successfully finding their way, they found the remains of Cousin Bungwater attracting a rather large badger. After getting almost entirely mauled by it, Willy and Lyon managed to retrieve the halfling corpse. Once delivered, a quick and practical burial was held in the pumpkin patch. After all nothing goes to waste.   Now, all which was missing was to find the source of the corruption...
