Session 101: Kobolds & Keening

General Summary

  The group plunged after Jinn into the icy depths of the river, coming ashore on the beach of an underground lake. A bit of reconnaissance revealed a den of kobolds about to enjoy a fresh kill. A bit of quick thinking and successful diplomacy enlisted their help in finding the entrance to Velia's lair. However, once the Dragon Punchers arrived at the entrance their guide refused to go any farther into "the Big Lady's" domain.   Pressing forward the party found their way blocked by a curious door. Brute force allowed them to disable the trap and force the puzzle to unlock the door, revealing a chamber guarded by Faceless. The group was able to subdue them, but the creatures' wails drew out concerned cultists from deeper within the complex. After a brief scuffle the cultists made a tactical retreat, allowing the Dragon Punchers to take a moment to catch their breath and recover.   Jinn used this opportunity to follow the withdrawing acolytes into an inner chamber dominated by a huge acid pit. Before he could thoroughly investigate a strange voice spoke directly to his mind. The rogue was perhaps not as hidden as he would have liked.
