Session 150: Investigation & Illithids
General Summary
The Dragon Punchers hired a small boat to take them to the Jeweled Tower on Galander Skerry, where
Aerolus made his home. The inside was precisely what they expected from a wizard's home, but with a notable exception--barrels full of people. This discovery put them understandably on edge. Nevertheless, the party allowed Ghiri, Aerolus's assistant, to lead them up to his study where the sage awaited their company.
The party was awed to find relics from heroes of old dotted throughout the room, as well as a strange feathered feline curled up in front of the fireplace. The enthusiastic, aged man who met them was not at all what the group was expecting. Aerolus was delighted to meet the Dragon Punchers. Indeed, it seemed he had been following their exploits for some time. He offered his services to their cause.
Put off by his helpful nature, and suspicious of what they'd found downstairs, the party confronted the wizard. He dropped the illusion to reveal his true illithid form. When confronted about the barrels in the pantry, Aerolus assured the party that he did not hunt for his meals. Instead, he simply collected those shipwrecked upon Galander Skerry. He had no interest in conflict, and preferred his quiet life of scholarship.
Confused and somewhat taken aback by this turn of events, the Dragon Punchers agreed to the wizard's assistance.
