Elros Greenleaves
Elven Merchant Description: Elros is a strikingly handsome male elf who originally hails from the city of Scornubel, although he can trace his direct roots to the Greenleaves clan of The Reaching Woods. He is currently living in the North Ward of Waterdeep as an agent for the Windriders Trading Company with his partner Grognak Ambershard and their Daughter Briar Ambershard-Greenleaves. Elros spends much of his spare time working with charities that help displaced Elves find employment and housing in Waterdeep and the surrounding areas. Bio: Elros was raised by his maternal aunt and uncle in Scornubel after he was found wandering alone outside The Reaching Woods. He told authorities that his family and whole clan were being held by Gnoll Slavers deep in the woods. His family escaped together however his father died of injuries sustained in the escape and he lost his mother somewhere deep in the woods when they got separated. As an adult, Elros’ uncle got him on as a Teamster in one the warehouses owned by Windriders Trading Company. Once there he quickly showed a knack for understanding the ins and outs of trading and shipping and rose up in the ranks of the Company until Torshilm Firetel himself offered Elros a job as his shipping agent in Waterdeep. Elros quickly accepted and has lived in Waterdeep ever since. It was in Waterdeep that Elros met his Life-Partner Grognak Ambershard. They soon consolidated their homes and started a family after adopting a half-orc daughter named Briar. -
Grognak Ambershard
Dwarven Merchant Description: Grognak Ambershard is a gregarious Dwarf merchant living in the North Ward district of Waterdeep with his life-partner Elros Greenleaves and their daughter Briar. He is originally from the Dwarven City of Mirabar but has lived in Waterdeep at least a few dozen years. He makes a living as a gem analyst for the Hammaver Group. He also makes his own small pieces of Jewelry that he sells to certain individuals and jewelers in Waterdeep. Bio: Grognak Ambershards is originally from the Dwarven City of Mirabar. He lost his father in a mining accident at an early age and was raised mostly by his mother Griselda. To help his mother take care of 3 children, he began to make jewelry that he would sell at the marketplace until the adult vendors would run him off. However even at this age his eye for spotting the ‘diamond in the rough’ with most jewels and gems got the attention of the local guilds. Soon he was hired by the Hammaver Group to assist them with finding the rare spectacular gems among the dross. He worked for many years for Hammaver but never really felt at home in Mirabar. So when they offered him the opportunity to go to Waterdeep and use his skills to buy gems and jewels for them on the wholesale market, he jumped at the chance. A few years after moving to Waterdeep he met his life partner Elros Greenleaves and they decided to sell their homes and move to larger estate in the North Ward. Not long after doing this they adopted a half-orc orphan named Briar and raised her to be quite the musical prodigy. -
Jalester Silvermane
Jalester was a captain of the City Watch of Waterdeep and the city’s main Lords’ Alliance agent. He reports directly to Laeral Silverhand. -
Matrimm Mereg
This socially awkward bard performs at the Yawning Portal and is a better musician than he pretends to be. He’s called “Threestrings” because he plays a lute that has only three strings remaining. He's been currently touring the Tavern Circuit with a traveling musical troupe (a band) -
Obaya Uday
Obaya, a priest. has traveled from Chult to sponsor expeditions into Undermountain, with the goal of bringing its magical treasures back to her employer, the merchant prince Wakanga O’tamu of Port Nyanzaru. She discourages low-level adventurers from exploring Undermountain but is happy to help them with her magic until they gain enough experience to be useful to her. -
Zaffrab Turen
The shopkeeper is a wizened deep gnome. A few years ago, he survived the detonation of a gas spore in Undermountain and inherited some stray beholder memories. Driven by a compulsion to carve out his own domain, the gnome settled in Waterdeep, bought the Old Xoblob Shop from its previous owner and renamed Zaffrab's Collectibles. However even after the name change everyone kept refering to it as the Old Xoblob Shop. Zaffrab grew frustrated and renamed it back to its previous name but then found that the locals started refering to him as 'Old Xoblob' and the name has stuck.
