Session 24: April Fool's Game! Report

General Summary

This session was more of a fluff session for April fools' Day. During the first half, the group got together and regathered at the Fairhaven HQ where Kisha and Antique informed them that Queen ir'Wynarn of Fairhold (castle in Fairhaven, Queen of Aundair) had loaned them a divination artifact that is poorly understood and likely spent, but symbolic for the museum event. It would need watch through the night. The group accepted then went to the town to spend some of their hard earned gold.   They visited Coinsack Avenue, the core shopping district in Fairhaven and began to explore the various shop keeps and goods on display. Much can be aquired at the Bazaar, but the Bazaar focuses on standard adventuring goods, while the shopping avenue has items they otherwize won't find outside of here.   Books, food, craft materials and small equipment were purchased. Mario at the Thirsty Raven Bistro was addressed by Trajan and Astara, and the lore on local wine was explored, introducing FairWine and the very expensive blue Liquid Magic Wine. Twig found a small patch of nature in the city, feeling a small home away from home in the local Greenhouse managed by shopkeeper Kira. Then Astara questionned Hallorn d'Lyrandar, a street vendor promoting his adventuring air taxi and learned a bit more of the dragonmarks and their houses, sending alarm to them. The information: people are born with the core dragonmarks, and they are not left to roam free, closely monitored. They are either integrated back in the family or hunted down.   Shopping done, everyone returns home to enjoy some pie together, before starting their watch. As soon as their watch starts, the eye cracks and crumbles. No checks, nothing it just breaks, leaving behind a hovering deck of blue cards. 12 Cards. The group gathers them and they hand it to Eavaan, who has a book on the cards (it was at the bookstore) and decide it is too dangerous. Astara and Nina investigate the pillar and situation. Astara discovers the center discs are an on and off switch for the hovering magic and Nina finds a layer of special dust that highlights foot prints leading from the scene to upstairs, all the way to their room.. and then, dead end. It turns out the 2 dwarves were the last to have been there before them. Meanwhile, Eavaan succumbs to temptation and pulls the card of the Fates, and is reminded of the time of the Mournland's creation, but seems to have to wait for full effects. Then Astara pulls a card, but also seems she has to wait. It is then that the dwarves barge in and explain that the cards are fake, and only make their card ping, with minor suggestion enchantment to them to trick the group. The april fool's prank is revealed and the game ends.
