Session 13-14: The adventure begins
General Summary
The group have been in Aundair for a year now, having found a home and worklife with the Wayfinder's Foundation: an adventuring guild located in the Country of Aundair. Some of the group wanted a more city-based home and set in the headquarters established in Fairhaven, the Capital of Aundair, a location of nobility, magical expertise and excess; while others wanted to have something closer to the earth, so set for Treegrove, the Foundation's home tower at the edge of the Eldeen Reaches and Aundair, in the small town of Owl's Perch, on the river mouth to the Arctic Coast. The group set themselves at the various home towers in Aundairs and discussed the job boards over their sending stone. Together, they debated the options and opted for the higher pay tasks: More than moles. This job goes on detailing a problem on the outskirts of Fairhaven where farmlands are dealing with huge holes in their fields. A research trip on burying monsters and tunnel integrity with half the group, and a visit to the farms from the other half to talk to the job's patron and farm owner later, the group gets to investigate the holes and learn that 57 have been found in crops of sugar cane and beets and similar, causing a lot of money lost. Stomaching well the diplomacy despite a dislike of the person hiring them, the group negotiates that additional work supplies be covered. Youka, with an investigation of droppings around the holes realizes there is an acidic component to this, and tells the group. Nina connects the dots to the Ankheg and the group can now retrieve the beastiary of the Ankheg. Early battle plans are debated and the game reaches its conclusion.
