Session 15: More than Moles Report
General Summary
The session begins with the setup for a battle against the Ankheg. A visit to the local industrial alchemist (think pesticide, mechanical grease, machine fuels, potent cleaning liquids) where a discussion eventually leads the group to purchase 65 smoke bomb and powdered poison, while Nina, rolling well, converts to the smoke bombs to poison bombs. The group returns to the farms and blocks the holes (but one, on the edges of the wilderness) with blankets and drop bombs within. Now the damages and number of hits were rolled as a group average, and ended up with a powerful combination. Everything in place, the Ankheg rushed out and battle began. It was discovered the beasts were a mated pair and now, were weakened by the poison. Easily dispatched, they still had some spraying acid that nearly took the close range people, leaving a few acid burn marks behind. Some healing and harvesting later, the group returned victorious and collected their pay. GAME BREAK On their way back to HQ, they overheard a conversation between Antique, a fancy warforge lady discussing with Kisha, the HQ's keeper in a displeased tone. Eavesdropping allowed them to find that the museum was closing due to some trouble, but no details were gaged. Eavaan accosted Antique outside the doors and exchanged business cards, but clearly, Antique was in no mood for a long discussion, even if they softened a bit before fully departing. As for Twig/Astara/Nina inside, the spoke to Kisha to try and help her calm and see all that is up. She dismissed most of it as just a bad day, paid the group and seemed in a much better mood the moment the success of the job was announced. Board of trustee members were glanced over: Dorein, the finance overlady of the HQ, and Griff, the communication's person on board. The group then discussed their next course of action and a vote later, opted to go help the wolf situation posted in Owl's Perch. A train ride later and they were all on location, with most now holding a year pass for the train. They had a moment with Bruhtsky, the Firbolg keeper of Treegrove and discussed the case a bit. He suggested talking to the druids in Wolf's Paw. The game, ended on this note.
