Session 28: Smoke and Daggers Report

General Summary

During this session, the group planned the battle. The temple was visited and shopping was done. It became clear, talking to Vassal Evelyn, the Vassal of all Hosts in Rainbow vestments, that consecrating an entire town is no simple (or cheap) feat. The option was off the table and the group went shopping.   Nina asked everyone to cast a cantrip into some conducting crystals and was able to power her squirrel Steel Defender to life, adding a front liner to the party. It was agreed by everyone that they would bring the Acolytes and then sleep on the train, and on the coach. From Arcanix, Astara turned into a horse and transports the group to Redragon, where the Incarnate Doom awaits, in the Town Square.   GAME BREAK   After the Break, a large battle ensues. As the group discovers that the being is truly only a central being within an aura of magical darkness, they trek dangerous terrain. Twig and Nina venture forth and find themselves blinded, magical light ineffective in the dark. At least simple magical light (Light spell / enchantment). Being daytime, no wisp are in sight. The acolyte bless the party and once convince, head to retrieve corpses.   Having a driftglobe, Eavaan sends it to cast daylight and dispels the darkness, revealing a smaller form of the cloud of darkness, still amorphous but more dense. Many attacks were done on all parties, and the creature landed a many blows, all very painful, downing Trajan twice, despawning Xuxu and breaking up the new Steel Defender on two occasions. Still, despite the dice being against the group, they prevailed, with Astara landing the killing blow (and her only landing blows of the night) to the creature.   END OF GAME
