Session 43: The coronation Report

General Summary

We start off in the morning with the group gathering in the tap room of the Inn for breakfast and discussion, looking for quiet spaces to gather up and listen to the local rumors. Most are expected, people suspecting foul play, some discussing near dissension of monarchy in general, all in shock of how sudden and quick everything is happening. But then, with good rolls, there is wind of someone mentioning seeing the symbol of the Serpentine table - a 3 headed hydra - around town of late. There is wonder of their involvement. No history check lead to much else, then Trajan knowing who to ask for more information.   So a plan is made. People meet in their room for privacy, and Astara debriefs everyone about what happened with the Banshee, about her family and the likes, and where allegiances may lie, if they need shifting. If. Trajan then departs for a nearby House Sivis to access their sending phones and contact his spymaster teachers, Rictus and Needor. A common point: Neither saw any of this coming. Rictus had little to give about the Serpentine table, but gave hints and tips on how to deal with the situation. Who to befriend, and the use of touch to detect Disguise spells. Needor, on the other hand, was able to give Trajan information about the table, letting him know that they are an international group of spies above the institutions of countries. Not dark assassins worshipping evil, but political ones, operating in great changes in the world. Shadow puppeteers. Eberron's Illuminati. Even the Dark Lanterns, Breland's royal spies fear them. The table, is lead by Ronin and Sheira, and Sheira, is Enora's daughter, making her Astara's mother, and Ronin a likely candidate for being her father.   Information is relayed, and Eavaan and Merta go around to investigate a few local rumors and ensure the guards are on point.   The coronation is then called into action, and everyone gathers at the throne room, with Astara disguised as Sophia, Eavaan, Merta, Nina and Trajan near the front as added guards and lookout. One lady in a red dress stands out and messages around are sent to have the guards on alert about her. Routine and traditions is undertaken, an oath is taken and the king was hailed. He then gave a very short speech, vowing justice for the death of his father, and publically denouncing the evils of the people of Droamm. Then re-iterating in lamen's term, he declared war openly, to the nation of Droamm, as of this day. Reactions were split among people, many horrified, others rallying behind the call. Half and half. Then, the room began to be emptied.   Not wanting to leave the castle, Astara mingled in the crowds and turned invisible, without the suspicion of the guards. However, Sophia did the same, and was noted by the group who reported the trespass to the guards (Sophia being the old lady in red). People were rushed out, the castle barred close and a short window of escape was granted, and succeeded by Sophia, but not Astara. Astara caught popping out of invisibility was arrested, and Sophia is in the process of running away. Astara was still able to warn the rest of the group, before being fully subdued.   END SESSION
