Session 54: We're on a boat y'all Report
General Summary
After a discussion between Astara and Eavaan about Yvan, and leaving a message to Astara's parents, the group set out for a travel at sea, finding a Galleon that matched their demand to avoid travel by a vessel not holding an elemental. The name misleading, they found an Elemental Galleon, which after talking to the Captain, they learned meant it was a shipped build and attuned to a trained member of House Lyrandar, bearing the mark of Storm. So together, they boarded The Wave Cutter (ship name) with Captain Gill Fardock. The battle for the vying of Captain Gill Fardock's attention soon began, with Eavaan and Astara vying for romantic interest and Trajan making a buddy. Senra enjoyed the sea air and the crow's nest while Merta hung out with Koji in the hull of the ship. First, as the ship took off (and poor Nina suffered severe sea sickness), the group got to witness how the ship works without a bound elemental or the very slow and old styles of twenty or so row-people. The captain is a half elf genasi from the d'Lyrandar family, with a water genasi mom and now, a dragonmark to his chest. This developped marked allows the family to make an elemental galleon attuned to him, which with the use of the mark, surpowers the ship to speed it up. Astara initiated a line of questionning that brought forth the deduction that yes, if Nina trained and developed her own mark, she could one day have such a ship. Then with the power, they surround the ship with a glowing circle of water that propels the water vessel foward. As night begins to fall, Merta goes to sleep and the Captain promises a fishing session with Trajan after he, Eavaan and Astara entertain each other in the Captain's cabin. Only the night is interrupted and Trajan waiting on the deck gets ambushed by waterlogged undead boarding the ship. Combat ensues and the group eventually dispatch the enemies without too much hurt (well basically Trajan is the only one to have taken some hits). Senra flying out and Astara swimming under, they spot that the sea floor has many more undead just walking in the bottom (pirates of the Carribean-style). Returning to the ship, they convince the Captain to push his limits and do his thing again to speed up the ship. With little rest and some magical assistance, he manages to push the ship but finds the ordeal tirings. Sadly Trajan fishes on his own due to this but manages to catch a few swordfish. Merta sleeps on the deck to ensure no more surprises and everyone makes it to port perfectly fines. There, it is explained that the culture of Karrnath is highly militant, with little in terms of luxuries and frivolities, and very process oriented. All here, is about order. The Captain promises Trajan to teach him how to swim to make up for the missed fishing session, and the group disembarks to begin their quest in Karrnath. GAME END
