The Mithril Mines pt. 2 Report

General Summary

The Scions manage to fight off the specter and his guards. Once defeated, the specter's temporary madness lifts; he claims to be Hannibal, one of the heroes who banished Lloth from this plane of existence. He tells the party that after Lloth was defeated he went on to unite the continent in Corellon's name, but found no peace in conquest. Ashamed of his actions, Hannibal and his retainers retreated underground to atone for their sins and perish.   Hannibal blames his corruption on the influence of the Undead Eye, and tells the party to take his sword. Hannibal tells the Scions that he foresees struggle in their future: fire and death, but also hope. He tells them when they are at peace, they will hear the song, and then fades from existence.   The Scions decide to head further into the mines, ignoring the tracks from mining equipment and heading to the southwest. They find themselves face to face with a knight in onyx black armor, wielding a giant khopesh. He tells the Scions they can run the gauntlet if they wish to meet his master, the Undead Eye, or offer an item of sufficient tribute. After some debating, the Scions decide to offer Hannibal's sword as tribute. The knight says their tribute is acceptable and claps his hands together. The Scions find themselves on a boat.   The party reconginzes the boat as the Stugatz. Vincenzo is at the helm, he snaps his fingers and the party finds themselves at a feast in the middle of the boat, attended by zombie butlers. Vincenzo muses on free will, and how Xanthalos has given him the power to stop the true threat to the realm: Trogdor. He offers the Scions an alliance: they kill Xanthalos, and then use the control stones to raise an army capable of destroying Trogdor's armies and chasing him back to his lair. Then, with the wyrm cornered, they end his life and save the realm not only from Trogdor's tyranny, but from the tyranny of Krom and the Emperor.   The Scions debate his offer, but ultimately decide that siding with a slaver is unaccepable. Vincenzo is disappointed; the calm seas turn into a raging storm and undead burst forth from below deck. If the Scions will not help him, then they will be destroyed.
