Return to Haversmeet pt. 5 Report

General Summary

The Scions survey the garrison to determine any potential entry points.  Elomira turns into a raven to blend in at the camp's rookery, and manages to BS her way (in raven speak) past the handler.  She then flies to the ornate purple tent at the center of camp and oversees a man in regal imperial armor, and a woman in Djarin armor, discussing maps and strategy.  Silas is also there, unharmed, but seemingly held against his will.   After returning to the rest of the Scions, the group decides to steal imperial uniforms by ambushing one of their hunting parties.  Mork, tired of the inaction of his teammates, jumps out of the bushes and yells "fireball!", which startles the imperials.  He convinces them hunting party he is Tork, a praetorian guard, and demands that one of them hand over their armor.  Mork terrifies the poor soldiers into compliance, and manages to grab some ill-fitting imperial armor before sending the hunting party on their way.   The Scions come up with a plan to infiltrate the  base - Rayuuv will cast astral gate in a bag of holding, which Mork will bring in to the camp.  Anton agrees to pretend to be Mork's prisoner.  Upon approaching the Western gate Mork attempts to convince the guards he is the praetorian guard Tork, but they see through his ruse and Mork and Anton find themselves surrounded.  Anton grabs the bag of holding with the astral gate, leaps over several of the guards, and runs as fast as he can toward the central tent.   After knocking an explosive barrel in a fire to cause a distraction, Anton stashes the bag of holidng in a wardrobe and runs toward the center tent.  He stops when a line of cavalry forms a barricade between him and the tent, and decides to announce he's one of the Scions.  A captain calls of the guards, and tells Anton and Mork that the Scions are guestes of the Legatus and shall not be harmed.  He also informs them the Legatus is waiting for them in his tent.   Inside the tent the Legatus, Tiberius Hadrianus, supreme commander of the Northern legions, introduces himself, along with his wife, Delilah of the Djarin.  He tells the Scions that the forces of the Senate cannot be trusted, they don't see Trogdor as the bigger threat and are simply in Haversmeet to loot and pillage if they manage to drive off the imperials.  He also tells the Scions the Church of Krom only cares about spreading Krom's word across the entire continent, by book or by sword.   Tiberius proposes an alliance, and asks the Scions to find Vincenzo DiLuzzio, who was last seen in the recently uncovered Eladrin ruins northwest of the camp.  Tiberius believes that Vincenzo knows why the undead have become a problem in the area, and that finding him may be able to avert the seemingly inevitable conflict between Imperial and Senate forces.   The Scions agree to the alliance, and are given safe passage through the camp.  The soliders, who originally chased Anton and Mork through camp, line up and wish the Scions luck as they exit the Western gate.
