I. Cladius Pt. 2 Report

General Summary

Rayuuv managed to save Wanda by throwing an iceball at the blue dragon.  With Wanda safe, the party made its way to the city of Monterra, where the encountered Carl, Marl, and Jarl - three Dowhar running a magic shop in the bazaar.  After trading the Efreeti bottle for a cloak of protection and gauntlets of ogre power, they make their way to the temple of Erathis.   Wanda is waiting for the party at the temple, where they are greeted by the priestesses as heroes.  The second sister asks the party to free the Archpriestess, Lady Demeter, and to talk with Claudius Hadrianus, son of the emperor and professor at the nearby university.   Claudius inadvertently works students into a frenzy while denouncing the emperor.  He brings the party to his office, asks a series of extremely inappropriate questions, and asks the party to convince the governor, Josephus, to abdicate and allow Claudius to rule on behalf of the Senate.  When news of a riot at the governor's villa breaks out, he asks the party to talk some sense into the students before they are all killed by the imperials.   The party manages to calm the crowd; Billy Bob puts on a raucous performance and convinces the crowd to head back to the Thirsty Scholar to drink more beer.  The guard captain, impressed by this, agrees to take the party to meet the governor.  However, once they are inside the villa the guards, eager for the bounty on the party's heads, turns on them and attacks.
