Wanda's Flashback Report

General Summary

The party accidentally unlocked one of Wanda's repressed memories while researching the Staff of Shifting Worlds.  The party found themselves on a mountaintop, fighting a band of draconic warriors who were guarding a mortally wounded ancient red dragon.  Wanda was there, except it was a version of Wanda they had never seen before - a paladin in full armor, and brandishing a dragonslayer greatsword.  After a round of combat the party realized the ancient dragon wasn't attacking, and questioned exactly why Wanda (or someone who appeared to be Wanda) would attack a mortally wounded creature with such bloodlust.     Wanda warned the party that the dragons had enslaved their people and destroyed their cities, but the party did not believe her.  Instead, they chose to incapacitate her, tie her up, and throw her into a pocket dimension created by Rayuuv's Rope Trick spell.  The ancient dragon showed the party what Wanda had done in their timeline - ripped out his heart and claimed the dragon's power for herself - and thanked them for saving the Draconic Empire in his timeline.   The party came to in the war room, with Wanda visibly shocked by the terrible things she saw.  She doesn't understand why she can't remember something so terrible.  She retreats to her quarters to contemplate what this means.   In the meantime, Claudius encourages the party pursue the blue dragon who absconded with a shipment of booze destined for Monterra.  The people are getting restless.
